Art and Architecture in the Sky
Floating structures introduced by atmosphere, lightness and quiet engineering.
"Every building belongs to a place. NABATELE asks what happens when it no longer does."
Architecture has always been an expression of place. It grows from the ground, becomes part of its landscape and carries the memory of its surroundings. Art project NABATELE challenges this ancient relationship. Suspended above the Venetian Lagoon, the project explores a different architectural condition. One in which a building no longer rests on foundations, but on air itself. Neither floating on water nor standing on land, it exists in a quiet state of equilibrium between gravity, atmosphere and memory. More than an installation, NABATELE asks a timeless question: Can architecture still belong, even when it no longer touches the earth?
The future of architecture is not defined by where a building stands, but by the ideas that allow it to belong.
Between Memory and Sky
The atmosphere, briefly made visible.
Mission Inflatable is a reflection about inflatable architecture itself, inspired by the art project NABATELE and by Helion (the first floating building hanging on earth), revealing helium-envelope sculpture shaped by buoyancy and the quiet laws of equilibrium.
A reflection by Regine C. Henschel follows the moment when the invisible is given a floating form.
NABATELE explores philosophical, dreamlike airborne architecture from artist and architect Anna Kamyshan at the Biennale Venice 2026.
